Additional Comments
I hated this class! Pages and pages of boring stuff to read. However, I loved Dr. Keyser. All of the information that I read from the book that made me go cross-eyed, he made interesting. He was always trying to relate the information to the students, and any input that anyone had was welcome, even a joke related to the material. He was very willing to help, and practically begged the students to come by his office with their flash cards for help. He always had an outline of his lectures on the overhead, which served as sufficient notes, although a little extra would definitely help. He talked really fast, and covered a LOT of material, but he wasn't hard to follow, although you have to write fast. The quizzes were difficult, but they helped you keep up with what was being covered so you weren't so behind when the test came, and no matter how many questions, ranging from 10-14 multiple choice questions, the quizzes were always worth 10 pts, which was very helpful. The tests consisted of a few multiple choice and map questions, 2 IDs, where you have to tell all about a person, place, thing, or event, and an essay worth half the score. I didn't think I would ever get rid of the cramp in my hand after the first test. However, he gives you a study guide which is majorly helpful. It has about a hundred terms that you should know because the multiple choice and ids will come from somewhere in there, but if you know the majority, you should be okay since you get to choose your 2 ids from a list of 4 or 5. The essays are on the study guide too, although you have to know at least two before going into the test although you only have to actually do one...you just don't know which one you'll be given. He has a study session before the test where he goes over the essays and what he expects so you can be more prepared. The class was really hard, but I think that's just the class itself, not the teacher. If you go to class every day and listen to what he says, you should be okay. I really liked Dr. Keyser, and he seems a lot better than other teachers, from what I've heard.
