Dr. Dietle is a tough teacher, and he is very no nonsense with a dry sense of humor, you DO have to read and write a great deal in any of his classes. I think its worth it just to hear his stories of the particular histories, and he expects you to learn the facts and then interpret them for yourself, it's a privilage for me to have his class, he's such a history geek! (very good sense of humor). if you are a history geek too, you will love him.
