Western Kentucky University / B / Robert Berkhofer

Berkofer is one of those teachers who likes to be very ambiguous when it comes to tests. He refuses to give the class test reviews of any kind. When the time comes to study for a test, you have to sift through tons of notes and try to find (in your opinion) what information is the most important. The class overall wasn't HORRIBLE but I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone. He also talks very fast and doesn't like to answer questions. I somehow miraculously passed the course and I still wonder to this very day how I did.

Face it, this class is hard no matter who you take. Professor Berkhoffer, however makes it easier. No attendance is required, though the test is comprised MOSTLY of the lectures he delivers each class. Basically, come to the lectures, take notes, review the notes, and you will more than pass!

Berkhofer is a harvard grad and is an excellent teacher. he has a fresh teaching style and keeps students interested. His tests are quite easy as long as you attend class and take notes. If this is done the book will not even be needed. There are group discussions and papers throughout the semester that can help to balance that test that you might have messed up on. Berkhofer is the teacher to take when it comes to Western Civ. He will keep you interested and wanting more information!

The notes will give you cramps for sure! Almost all of the grades are exams that are rather difficult. The plus to this course is that the text book he uses is online so you can save yourself $40.
