I LOVED Ms. Ayers! I thought this was the hardest of the math classes you have to take, but geometry is not my strongest subject in math. Ms. Ayers really will work with you though and helps you understand the material really well. I definitely recommend taking her!!

- She is OK at teaching. Definitely not my favorite. Her methods are completely different and more complex than what I've learned. (I stick to what I'm familiar with when I'm doing homework/tests/quizzes.)
- If you ever want her to cancel a class, she won't. We met five days a week and never missed a class or got out more than 10 minutes early.
- She expects you to print off her guided notes from Blackboard and each "module" that you print off is at least 40 pages long. During one class time, you don't have to take a lot of pages of notes, but it all adds up.
- Almost every class she says something on the lines of "let's see how bad your high school teachers were" and she has this attitude like she is the only good teacher in the world. She also will tell you that any method you learned before now is wrong and "can't be used".
- You have to take quizzes/tests online in the testing center (which is a general requirement for this course) and you usually have a few days to take them, but if you don't take it within the first day it's available, she will complain and say that she is disappointed about how everyone is slacking.

This class was for elementary education majors, but she does teach a regular math class. Dr. Ayers will push you to make a good grade, which is what a teacher should do. But in the first chapter you are not allowed a calculator because they are basic problems. You eventually get to use a calculator but make sure that you understand how to do problems without a calculator. Dr. Ayers is a really good teacher and she will help you if you do not understand a problem. But I would recommend taking her for Math!

Mrs. Ayers is a great math teacher, she loves what she does and is very helpful. All homework is done online so you dont need the book. notes are printed so you just fill in the empty spots. Tests are okay if you know the material she does give some quizzes as well. The Final is alright and its over everything. She is helpful if you need it so dont shy away from her! I didn't do as well as I would have liked but it had nothing to do with the teacher. She is wonderful and great at explaining. It may have been a while since you've had a math class but she will catch you right back up. She prints the notes for you so you can work her examples in the space provided on the handouts, wonderful idea I thought. The book is not required because she has her own notes and you use MathXL for homework. Homework was assigned after every class meeting but wasn't due until the next week. If it was completed before the next class meeting you received extra credit. Wonderful lady!

I hate math...but luckily with Prof. Ayers I survived. She was very understanding to students with questions. All of the homework is done online and she gives ample time to complete each assignment (an entire week). Her tests are fairly difficult and studying is required, but her final isn't nearly as hard as her tests. Attendance isn't mandatory, and all of the notes are posted online. All you have to do is print them off. I would most definitely recommend Ms. Ayers!!!

DO NOT buy the textbook. I paid $100 for a new one, and never used it. She puts all of the notes on the Internet. All you have to do is print them out. All homework assignments are done online.
I highly recommend Ms. Ayers, especially if you're not good in math!

Mrs. Ayers is a really great professor. This was my first college math class and she not only explained everything very well, she made the difficult stuff easy to understand. She uses notes that you print off the internet. All your homework is done on the internet, so DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK! She gives quizzes almost every Friday (for MWF classes) to reward those who don't skip class. Attendance is not mandatory but is highly recommended. Also, she lets you pick the first 7 questions on the final and offers two extra credit points on every chapter test if you do your homework 2 days after she makes it available online (you have a week to do each assignment.) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I would suggest anyone who has any trouble with math not to take Ms. Ayers. I have been attending Western now for three years and I have never had a teacher like her. Most teachers show compassion---not her. She could care less who your are and what your goals are. She does not give correct time on assignments and her explanation on topics are very vague. She could care less if you succeed or not and she also could care less if you pass or not. Her job is to make the class and the students feel worthless. Do not take this teacher if there is any way around it.

Dr. Ayers is a fine teacher but I was always afraid some little thing I was doing would upset her. She seems a little bit on edge but she definitely gets the job done. She's not very easy to negotiate test dates with but she finally gave a little. I didn't think the class was hard at all but I am fairly good at math. The class moves pretty fast and if you get behind you might be in bad shape. Remember to keep up with the homework because its a big part of the grade and its easy to do because its online. Bottomline: Its boring because its math but its not a hard A.

I found Mrs. Ayers notes to be very helpful. Although, I found Mrs. Ayers herself not to be very helpful. I worked my butt off in her class. I completed all the homework problems she assigned and hired a personal tutor from the math lab to work with me once a week. She had to see how hard I was trying, but showed no sympathy towards me. I went to her office several times for help and she would tell me that she had to be some where. I felt as if she did not care if I succeeded in her class. After all my hard work I ended up getting a 75 D in her class. She did not give me the one point I needed to get a C and pass her class.
I would only take Mrs. Ayers if your an extremly bright math student!!!

Mrs. Ayers is a great teacher. At the begining of the semester, she drops notes off at Kinkos and you pick up a copy from there. The notes follow her lecture to a "T". They are very helpful. You can only miss 5 days in her class, but if you miss too many then you will get behind. You have about 5 tests and a quiz every week. Also everyweek she give you a HW assignment that is due the next week. (ex: gives it to you on Friday, due Monday) The final is mandatory and you have to get at least a 50% on it to pass the class. I would reccomend Mrs. Ayers to anyone!

Mrs. Ayers moves very fast in this course. She has a policy that if you don't catch it the first time, tough luck. She also has a very bad tendency to have class pets. These are usually the people who have been in her other classes and tend to suck up alot, they can usually get away with anything, including acting like a bunch of third graders during a final exam review to the point that several people asked them to calm down and Mrs Ayers still didn't say anything to them! If your not really good at math or not on this teacher's "A" list I suggest taking another professor.

I took this class during the summer and so she had to fly through 9 chapters in 5 weeks, and it was just a little overwhelming for me. I tried to keep up, but I just don't learn math very quickly. It takes a while for it to sink in with me, so I didn't perform as well on the tests as I would have hoped, but I made it out with a B. I highly recommend her for this course. Mrs. Ayers is an excellent teacher that explains it to where you can understand her lecture. However, she can go too fast and tries to compact too much information into the semester. Your notes can be picked up at kinkos and you don't have to buy the book, but it helps a lot to do practice work from it. Her tests are very difficult and mind blowing! Also, there are homeworks and quizzes that you must take and if you miss class too often it can really hurt your grade. The math is simple, but there are all these models and ways of explaining why something is so to remember. I hate the grading scale b/c (1) you have to get a C to go to the next level and (2) if you have an 82 that is a C, when with normal grading scales it would be a B, so there's a larger margin to fail the course.

My experience wasnt the best one. As far as a person, she's great. Very family oriented and understanding. The notes are a big help and well worth the $10, but alot of times her quizzes and tests dont coincide with her notes. The problem formations are different, and for someone like me who isnt a genius, its hard to know what to do when problems arent in the same formation. She is extremely fast. Usually covering 6 sections in one week....quizzes every week. Her availbility is pretty decent. If math is one of your stronger areas, you'll be fine. SHe is a great teacher. If you have trouble in math I would strongly recommend her. I got a C but i never did the homework. If i had done it would have been an easy A or B.

Mrs. Ayers is an awesome teacher. I am definitly not a math person, yet I did well in this class. She gives you copies of all the notes you need and there isn't a lot of homework. The class is awesome and you are sure to do well in there, if I get the chance I will definitly take her again!

Mrs. Ayers was a great teacher. She cares about her students and how well they are doing. When we did notes, she gave us a handout with examples which helped a lot. If you don't miss a lot of days then you will do great in this class.
