Mr. Jolly's a nice guy. His class was fairly simple. The hardest part was the 14 assigned journal entries which were supposed to be 500 words each. The 4 essays assigned were hard not to ace if you made the changes that Mr. Jolly stipulated, and he went over them thoroughly. The class was a pleasure to attend and no one should have had any problems.

This class was a breeze. I personally hate writing but with his class as long as you do the work an A is guaranteed. Like the previous evaluation explained there are three 2-3 page essays all semester. A personal narrative, a definition essay, and a compare/contrast essay. There is also 5-6 page research paper. All of the writing assignments are simple. Write a rough draft and he sits down with you, tells you what's wrong, and then gives it back. You get 5 extra credit points for taking it to the Learning Assistance Center which takes no time at all. Throughout the semester he will assign readings out of the textbook and at the end of the semester you have to write a total of 18 journal entries either about the reading assignments or whatever you want to ramble about. We also took up about two weeks of class watching the documentaries "Supersize Me" and "Fahrenheit 9/11" and then we had to answer like 5 questions about each one. This class is easier than middle school English. There are no due dates for the writing assignments. One of the students in my class waited until the last class meeting and turned in all 3 of his essays, his research paper, and his journal and Mr. Jolly didn't deduct any points!

Adam Jolly is the best freshman english teacher out there. Everyday you read a 2-3 page story and write a journal entry about it. That is ALL you do and then there are about 4 papers that are EXTREMELY easy because the topics are so broad. He allows you to take it to the writing center to be corrected for extra credit. You turn it in and he corrects it and then gives it back to you for you to fix and turn in for the final grade. It is SO easy, even if you aren't good at writing. There are no tests or anything and I don't think I was ever in the class for over 15 minutes, he just lets you go when theres nothing else to talk about! I highly recommend him!!
