Additional Comments |
This class was a breeze. I personally hate writing but with his class as long as you do the work an A is guaranteed. Like the previous evaluation explained there are three 2-3 page essays all semester. A personal narrative, a definition essay, and a compare/contrast essay. There is also 5-6 page research paper. All of the writing assignments are simple. Write a rough draft and he sits down with you, tells you what's wrong, and then gives it back. You get 5 extra credit points for taking it to the Learning Assistance Center which takes no time at all. Throughout the semester he will assign readings out of the textbook and at the end of the semester you have to write a total of 18 journal entries either about the reading assignments or whatever you want to ramble about. We also took up about two weeks of class watching the documentaries "Supersize Me" and "Fahrenheit 9/11" and then we had to answer like 5 questions about each one. This class is easier than middle school English. There are no due dates for the writing assignments. One of the students in my class waited until the last class meeting and turned in all 3 of his essays, his research paper, and his journal and Mr. Jolly didn't deduct any points!
