Mr. Rogers is one of 2 teachers that teach English 300 on Glasgow campus. This class pretty much consists of staying in class for 15-30 minutes and then leaving. BUT, he does expect you to put forth a lot of effort on the 3 essays, 6 inclass essays, annotated biliography, and research paper that you have to do. I always had gotten As on all my writing, but got a B on my first essay. However, I took my second and third essays to him and got As on both! He doesn't mind to sit down and talk to you about the essays, in fact I think it helps your grade! :)

Mr. Rogers class is very boring. However, he will help his students if you ask him. The thing I did not like about this class is that you have no room to breathe. If you bomb a paper then you have little room to improve your grade. Plus the grading scale is so stupid. You have to make a 94 to get an A. This is higher than most major programs, and this is a general ed class. I would recommend his class, but you must be very well organized and ready to write your hand off with the in class work. Easy A if you do well on EVERY paper.

Run do not walk away from this professor! This is the worst professor I have ever meet. He gives no real directions/instruction. He writes a short paragraph on the board before class begins and then goes on to read it word for word. The course is based on 1000 pt system and all but 100 of those points are exam/quiz based. You have to memorize a 'book" that he made himself to even pass this class. It will be an independent learning class if you take it with Rogers. When asked a question this professor answers with "don't waste my time!" Drop this class before it is too late.

I am very glad that I took this class with Rogers. It "requires" a lot of reading, but you only have to purchase one book. Everything else comes from different sources on the Internet. If you want to be lazy, this is the class you can do it in because you don't really have to read any of the assignments. You are supposed to have them read before class but it's not necessary. He always has an overhead with questions about the reading. You get thirty minutes or so to work with a partner to answer the questions about the text you "read" and then he goes over every correct answer aloud. After that you have a five question quiz over exactly what he just told you and you go on your merrily way atleast an hour early. There are two papers due for the class, but they aren't anything to dwell over either. There are only two test and each one covers what was done up until that point making the final cover only half of the semester.

Notes were questions which he post on the over head. An avg of twelve questions per class. Your allowed to work in groups. He wasn't very clear on what he wanted from his essays but he grades easy and fairly. Most of the time we finished early. The class overall is mostly common knowledge and is a bit boring.

The way this class is set up, you read your stories before class, then get in small groups to answer questions, and then there is a class discussion. You have two tests, two essays (graded pretty easily), and a project. My advice is to take plenty of notes during the discussions. His tests can be pretty tricky. For example, if he mentions the meaning of a word, it's likely that it will be on the test, so write it down.

I had Mr Rogers for ENG 100, 200, and 300 and (obviously) I loved his classes. He is a wonderful teacher and makes everything understandable for his students. He doesnt care for slackers (but who really does?) and he will work with you if you are trying. Most of the work is in class. There are quite a few papers in 300 but thats with every 300 class. He grades them easily and really only expects to see your work improve over the course of the semester. My husband had him for ENG 100 and is taking him for ENG 200 this semester as well. We both agree that he is the best ENG teacher and would recommend him to anyone! Beware, on the first day he may scare you, but i promise he is the nicest and most respectful teacher! TAKE HIM!

Mr. Rogers is a great teacher. The class is fairly easy as long as you keep up with all the assignments that you have to do. There is alot of work but it can be done. The test are really easy since he tells you exactly what to study for. Take this class!!!

Dr. Rogers is an overall very good teacher to have before English 100. The class is mainly filled with "in class essay" projects that you have to do and our final was our "major essay" at the end of the semester. He's a good professor to get along with.

Dr. Rogers teaches in the English department. I had him for English 300 and was very impressed with his teaching style. He is not on a power trip like a lot of teachers can be. He is kind of different at first, but actually turned out to be a very smart man that enjoys English. If I would have had him for English 100 and English 200 my life would have been much easier in the English department. I encourage everyone to run not walk to his class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is a great teacher to take for any English course. He knows the subject matter and is interested in what he is teaching. You do some papers and an oral report, but they are not all that bad.

Professor Roger's does a good job by not drilling stuff into your head. You do have to read for every class and write a summary, but thats childsplay.

Good teacher! Be ready to read a lot - but it's interesting stuff. A journal due everyday (handwritten thoughts on your readings) 3-4 small papers (1-3 pages) 1 reseach paper (7-9 pages) If you have to take this class take Rogers.

The longest I ever stayed in class was the first day. Classes average 5-10 minutes. You have 10 notebooks, 4 essays, a research paper, presentation, and a final. That is it. It seems like a lot, but it is easy. Everything is one ONE topic, so it becomes repetitive. TAKE HIM!!!!
