I had this as a Monday night class. You have readings assigned for each week, but it's really not that much as long as you remember to do it. You write three papers, give a presentation, and do some other stuff, but it's probably the best literature class you can take here. Ms. Payton knows her material very well and she is willing to help you if you don't understand a story or poem. We didn't have to stay the whole time but maybe once or twice. Take her! Written with Miller Lite in hand.

Ms. Payton is a very layed-back teacher! She did not give any test all semester; there were only three papers that we had to write and one research paper. She even tends to cancel class every once in a while! She made me like going to English class!

this class was a joke. there are no tests, only three in class essays that are extremely easy and three 2-3 page papers out of class. plus a 5-6 page research paper. we never stayed in class for more than 30 mins except on days you have to write essays. if you actually want to learn something I felt like this was a waste of time, if u want to bs ur way through, this is the class to take.

Ms. Payton appears to be a little intimidating at first, but she's good-natured overall. She' s a lot more flexible than she lets on that she is. There are three papers in this class along with some smaller miscellaneous writing assignments and a quiz or two. There are no exams. It felt sometimes like she gave us the assignment without instructions to go with it--it was almost as if we were expected to know what we were doing already. You have to come up with questions over your reading assignments to "inspire group discussion." At the end of the semester, you have to pick fifteen of your best questions and write short paragraph answers to be turned in as a Reader Response Journal. I'm not one much for literature, so I didn't really enjoy the class. I thought the poetry section would never end. Overall, Ms. Payton is an ok instructor-- certainly not the worst I've had, but not the best either.

Ms. Payton is one of the best teachers I have ever had! She is always willing to help you with papers that are assigned as well as papers that are from other classes. There is no attendance policy although she will tell you there is. Don't expect to be in class for the whole 55mins. Once she gets her point across and all question are answered you will be out of class in 25mins or less. Overall she is a great teacher

She never keeps you in class very long. You have a semester project that you work on all semster and it consist of three different papers. Those are your only out of class papers. There are no tests. The only money you have to spend is to copy all of your assigned reading from the library. Your assigned reading is later used for in-class essays. The teacher is very understanding about absences as long as you have a decent excuse. She also has one on one confrences to help you with your out of class papers and is very helpful.

Ms. Payton is just a grad-student but she is so nice and a pretty good teacher. She meets with you about every paper and will tell you how to fix it...if you have any problems she will you help you out and is good about excused absences.
