At the beginning of the semester, I could barely understand this course, but at the end I loved it. If you study the textbook and read the NY Times, the tests and quizes will be a breeze. I didn't have to take my final because I already had an A. Extra credit is available, and papers can be rewritten for a better grade.

. I had this same teacher for soc. 100 and she was the best. She actually knew what she was talking about and made class fun with videos and games. If you have to or want to take sociology i would HIGHLY recommend her!!

The class itself isn't difficult I was simply not impressed with her as a professor. She rambles which makes note taking difficult and her tests are 90% whats in the book and the rest is what she rambles on about. I also suggest using the website that comes with the book she sometimes takes test questions directly from there!
She also has an extremely hard time hearing so be prepared to yell a lot. She doesn't take attendance but will make announcements constantly how she is disappointed in the lack of attendance.
I wouldn't recommend her at all!

If you have a life and have a job i suggest not taking this class. She is a good professor, but if you dont read the book and the mandatory study guide then you are screwed for the tests. Overall i wouldnt really reccomend her. She is a very strange lady and she is really old.

Dr. Krenzin is kind of an old lady that likes to talk about her days living in Wisconsin alot but overall she is a nice, interesting lady. She doesn't really give lectures that you can take many notes on so I highly suggest getting the study guide to go along with the book because she asks questions straight out of the study guide. Its a good idea to review the chapter on your own if you want to do well on the tests. And if you have an A in the class by the time the final rolls around, she will offer you a simple, easy way out of the final like helping her grade or something.

Joan Krenzin is the worst teacher you could ever take for sociology. If you scheduled her go ahead and drop her class. You do not learn ANYTHING from the old hag. She is about to fall apart. She has like no circulation to her right hand (which she writes with) so you cant read the notes she puts on the board, and when she does give you notes its the key word and doesnt tell you the definition, so it is no help. There is NO study guide for the quizzes or tests, and she offers no help whatsoever even if you ask. She has a terrible accent so you cant understand a word she says...and she gets terribly upset if you fall asleep during her lecture (that is impossible not to though).

This is a class that you need to read the text. All of her quizzes and tests come from the book and little from lecture and video. The class was not that bad, but it required a lot of reading and a lot of studying. Make sure you read everything on every page in the chapter.

This lady needs to retire. She is a very evil woman. Everything with her is black and white, there is no discussing anything; "she is always right." She is not fair at all and is extremely strict! It is a 100 level class but she treats it like it is a 400 level class.

Mrs. Krenzin was a great teacher. She is very nice and really tries to get students involved in class discussions. Her tests can be a little difficult at times but its not too bad.She makes you write 4 papers which you can redo by the next class period to make up for points you might have missed. You watch a few videos in class and she hardly puts notes on the board. She goes over what will be on the test. As long as you attend class and read the book and do the study guide, then you'll be fine.

Mrs. Krenzin is a very nice, down to earth woman. She's "spunky" and seems to really enjoy what she does. Although she doesn't require attendance, it is important that you be there. You will have several quizzes, which mainly come from the study guide book, and it is a necessity to read your chapters thoroughly. I will admit that the tests are a little unfair it seems at times, and almost impossible to score perfectly on, but if you study hard, do the assignments, and show up for class Mrs. Krenzin will help you to do well. I would recommend her class to anyone willing to learn!

Show up for class, do your work and follow the instructions she gives you. (Hint: Most of her questions on the quizes and test come DIRECTLY from the study guide, so USE IT!). It is important when writing her papers to follow the "English Grammer Guide" she gives you. You are given a second chance to take quizes if you miss a class, and a second chance to rewrite papers if you do poorly on one (but only if you turned in the original on time). Watch your grammer because she definitly does. Especially watch your commas. I would recomend her class to anyone interested in learning about the world and sociology.

She definitely is the worst teacher I've ever had. She's Unbearably Boring and tries to be funny but she's not. Her test was one of the most difficult I've ever taken. I do not wish upon my worst enemy to take this class.

If you pay attention in class & most importantly--read the book--you will do fine. There are five one-page papers you have to write, but they are not hard at all. There are several short quizzes which count as part of your test grade. Tests are pretty long & tedious, but if you've read & paid attention in class, they're not too bad. She is a very nice, sometimes strict, but absolutely fair teacher. I would recommend her.
