Hughes is an amazing teacher. There is no final, and you have three major papers you have to write over the semester. The papers only need to be three pages each, so it is not an overkill of writing. Students also have to keep a journal, but it is very easy to keep. All entries need to be at least one page. She is a very fun teacher who makes each class period fun in a different way. Students also participate in three debates each semester which are all interesting. There is no writing required in the debates, just active participation. I would highly recommend Dr. Hughes to any student who has to take any English class.
