Dr. Hughes is a great professor for grammar, and really helped me. She is very tough on grading, really not pulling any punches, but she is very exacting in grading, and will explain where each and every point you lost came from. I highly recommend her for any English major, or anyone else who really wants to learn something in ENG 100 and be a better writer for it. Even if you get a grade on a paper that really is not that great, you can work your way back up (like me), by talking with her about your writing's problems, and through strengthing your weaknesses. I think I had something like 78, 72, 76, 92, 95 in my five major papers on this class, and still got an A, because I really showed interest, and earnestly tried. Don't give up if you're stuck with her at 5PM, like I was! You'll learn to like her after about three weeks!
